Automation Engineer

   Aalborg, North Denmark

We are looking for an experienced automation professional to work with advanced automation solutions in a growing, international environment focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, and system reliability. You will join a global automation setup and work closely with cross-functional teams, contributing across the full lifecycle of automation solutions.



QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong hands-on experience in automation and industrial projects
  • Solid knowledge of PLC systems, preferably Siemens Step 7 & TIA Portal
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure IoT Hub)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within automation systems
  • Good understanding of electrical drawings and components
  • Experience with pumps and frequency converters
  • Background in marine, shipyard, or industrial environments is an advantage
  • Proactive, structured, and comfortable taking responsibility
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Based within commuting distance of Aalborg or willing to relocate
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Design, develop, and structure PLC and HMI software for industrial systemss
  • Implement and work with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet)
  • Participate in FAT testing, validation, and final documentation
  • Provide electrical and automation technical support to global teams
  • Prepare electrical documentation, bills of materials, and technical calculations
  • Ensure smooth handover of automation solutions to Production and Service
  • Take ownership of automation projects in close collaboration with Project Managers
  • Engage with customers, suppliers, and service technicians when required
